Mr. Lauppe’s great grandfather, Rudolph emigrated from Switzerland in 1832 and lived at the historic Fourteen-Mile House. He then purchased land in Citrus Heights and took up milling. Part of the land he owned was where the Sacramento Capitol now stands. His family farmed the rest of the land and eventually built the Antelope Grange Hall.
